Every June, we in Tottenham come together in the spirit of community and togetherness for the Festival & Carnival. It is a wonderful opportunity for everyone to come together in a colourful display of music and festivities to celebrate our diverse community. Each year Carnival captures the tremendous community spirit of local people. This year the carnival will be held on Saturday 20th June.

The year saw the Tottenham Community Festival and Carnival as part of the new Lee Valley Festival With activity taking place on and around the River Lea, the Festival will engage North London’s diverse community and business sectors and stimulate local enthusiasm in North London for the Olympic and Paralympics Games in London in 2012. The Initiative is funded by The London Development Agency Business Opportunities and Business Readiness for 2012 as part of the Lee Valley Festival, this is a key event for all North London Businesses to be informed and updated on the latest tendering opportunities and developments arising from the 2012 games and development of the Lee Valley.

New to the park for 2008

We introduced a new comedy element to the programme with the ‘Laughing Beer Tent ' this will extend the activities at the event to include a platform for new and established comedy performers and writers, this was a great success and we will be including and building on this exciting new element for 2009.

INCLUSION ZONE and YOUTH ZONE

With funding support from the London Development Agency, we are delighted to present the new Inclusion Zone. Led by Luminous Frenzy, the area will feature live music, information stalls, celebrity Paralympics guests and more. The Youth Zone has also been extended to facilitate more organisations to inform our younger visitors about training, leisure and employment opportunities. There will also be a particular focus on sports activities and the opportunities associated with the 2012 Olympics.
